Introduction to flavor physics in and beyond the Standard Model These lectures provide an introduction to the phenomenology of flavor changing interactions and CP violation. The first step is a review of the Standard Model, with particular emphasis on how the CKM matrix emerges from the electro-weak symmetry braking. Then we present the effective Hamiltonian approach to rare decays and a classification of CP violating effects. We, then, discuss the measurement of various CP violating observables. Finally, we discuss some new physics scenarios.
