The deadline for applications for the 2015–2016 Academic Year is 1 May 2015. Selections will be announced shortly thereafter, and students will take up residence at Fermilab in late Summer or early Fall and stay for twelve months. The 2015 Selection Committee will be chaired by Patrick Fox and will include all interested staff members of the two theory Departments. This committee will facilitate connections between applicants and potential Fermilab supervisors.
The stipend for 2015–2016 will be $30,000, supplemented by a move allowance of up to $4000 (to cover the move to/from Fermilab), an allowance of up to $3000 for health insurance, if needed, and an allowance for conference travel.
The program also aims to pay the student’s tuition, but we have a fixed budget, so tuition remission is limited to a maximum of
$6000 (for the full year). In our experience, this is enough to cover reduced, post-coursework or off-site tuition at most universities. If this is not the case at your university, please contact (via your professor or department Chair) your insitution’s office administering graduate programs.
Funding will be provided from Fermilab to the student’s home institution for stipend, tuition remission, and heath insurance only. The program cannot pay for university overhead or administrative costs.
Applications will be taken through academicjobsonline (if needed, select FGRSPTHPH2015 #5381).
For questions, please contact Patrick Fox.
